WebChaver Filtering

For added security, you can choose a unique password to protect the filtering settings.

From the settings tab, you can choose your filter sensitivity level, blocking all but permitted sites, or blocking sites above a specific score level. You can also specify certain sites to "Always Block", or "Always Allow", as well as choosing whether the filter can be overridden without a password.

If you find that the filter is blocking too many sites for you, even on the lightest setting, we suggest activating the "Allow Overrides" option. This will allow you to override the filter when a site is blocked, with a single-click and without having to enter a password. Since our filter is working together with the Accountability system, it is generally safe to allow this feature, since all activity is monitored and reported on the Accountability report regardless. With this configuration, the WebChaver filter is simply an extra measure of security to prevent unintentional stumbling into an inappropriate website.

With the "Time Settings" tab, you can specify certain times of day that the internet should not be accessible at all. You can apply these settings to all days of the week universally, or choose different times for different days.

From the "Protocols" tab, you can further customize the filter to block certain types of internet access, such as, file sharing, chat or news groups. WebChaver suggests blocking these protocols unless they are extremely necessary.
